Biju Muthathi, Senior television journalist working in Kairali tv, is a well acclaimed documentary director as well. He is the Director and Anchor of Kerala express, a weekly documentary series which has been on air since 2011. The program has explored the lives of people from Kerala and neighbouring states who were not always part of the mainstream. He has won kerala state television award thrice for the program, Best anchor in 2015, Best documentary director in 2014 and 2016.
On his 350th episode, the program he did on Oachira temple titled "The God of vagabonds" irked the hindu militants and he received death threats for this.This was widely discussed in national medias and he had received support and encouragement from leftists and filmmakers for his work.
For the past ten years he has been reporting India's international film festival IFFI Goa. He has done many programs about world cinemas and has also written many articles about film, art, culture and politics.
