Dr. Latha Nair R is currently working as an Associate Professor at the Department of English and Centre for Research St. Teresa’s College Kochi, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Dr. Nair has been appointed as the Director of the Gunn centre In India after she undertook an Intensive Course on Science Fiction and Creative Writing programme at the State Kansas University U.S. in June 2014.
A postgraduate in English with First Class from the University of Kerala, Latha Nair, has completed her Ph.D. in English Language & Literature in the year 2000 from Mahatma Gandhi University. Her Research interests include Critical & Literary Theories (Modernism, & post-Modernism, Body & Culture, Cultural Studies, Modern European Drama, Dalit studies & Language &Linguistics.
She was a member of the Steering Committee for the third cycle of the National Assessment and Accreditation of the College and was responsible for drafting the third Cycle report which enabled the College to secure commendable score of 3.4 C.G.P A which became instrumental in securing autonomous status for the College in 2014 . The College has now been awarded A++ with CGPA 3.57 in the fourth cycle.
She is a Nominee of the TATA Trust 2016, Executive Member of Sir Dorabji TATA Trust Hospital, Chottanikkara, Trustee to TATA Pilgrims Society and Board Member of Project Venda – Say No To Drugs.
