A. Pradeepkumar is a member of 14th Kerala Legislative Assembly. He belongs to Communist Party of India (Marxist). He was previously elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly in 2006 and in 2011. He started his political life as a student activist in Students Federation of India. He was the secretary of S.F.I at Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College Unit and Chairman of Calicut University Union. He was a member of Calicut University Senate and secretary, S.F.I. Kozhikode District Committee. From 1992 to 1994, he was the vice president of SFI. He has served as a member of District Sports Council, Kozhikode and Kerala State Sports Council.
