A native of Kerala and a medical doctor by training, Dr. Venu Vasudevan assumed office as the Principal Secretary, Kerala Tourism. Dr. Venu was also formerly the Secretary, Department of Cultural Affairs, Kerala, and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture; Government of India. It was during his tenure as the Director General of the National Museum, Delhi that the museum underwent a structural as well as organisational transformation. Dr. Venu also played a major role in the Incredible India campaign during his time in the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
