“The episodes of deluge that has occurred in Kerala, designed or otherwise, calls for recognizing space as a fragile resource in new Kerala,” said K.P. Jaisal in a conversation with Nishanth M.V. The dialogue traced the events during the rescue operations carried out by the fisher folks during the deluge.
“Though hailed as indigenous armed men and saviors of the state, our lives still continue to sail in troubled waters,” said Jaisal. He pointed out the plight the community faces, economically and socially. His talk also threw light on the positive aspects post deluge, where he started earning recognition and also understood that humanity thrives above all.
The session concluded on an affirmative note when he stated, Kerala is God’s own country and should remain the same.
